There are a lot of local initiatives that we actively support but I have to say Girls Tech Day is one of my favorites. For some background, Girls Tech Day is dedicated to educating high school girls on just how cool and fun a career in technology can be. Throughout the day local professionals and major corporations, such as Microsoft, will be conducting hands-on workshops and interactive lectures to open eyes and create excitement about web, mobile, and enterprise technology.
The event will take place at NHTI, Concord’s Community College, on Thursday, March 14th. Mary Laturnau, Director of the IT and Manufacturing Partnership, has been instrumental in coordinating this event and deserves a tremendous amount of credit (and at least a golf clap from those reading this post). At full capacity this event can serve 165 attendees and filled up virtually overnight with attendance from 9 local high schools. It should be an amazing day.
