Our client is looking for a hands-on Director of Software Development to lead and grow our engineering teams. Reporting to the CTO, this role is ideal for a technologist with a strong software engineering background who thrives in a fast-paced, startup-style environment. The Role:

• Lead and scale multiple high-performing Scrum teams
• Develop and execute technical strategy and scalable architecture
• Review code and guide hands-on implementation as needed
• Build in-house engineering capabilities while managing offshore teams
• Ensure high standards for code quality, performance, security, and scalability
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Data teams to align tech with business goals
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous learning
• Stay ahead of emerging technologies (e.g., AI) and industry trends

Experience:

• Strong background in software engineering with hands-on coding and architecture experience
• Previous experience as a software engineer.
• Experienced with different software languages such as .Net and Python.
• Proven experience leading and scaling engineering teams in fast-paced or startup environments
• Comfortable reviewing code and providing technical direction
• Expertise in building data-driven, scalable applications
• Experience managing offshore teams and hybrid/in-house teams.
• Strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
