IT Generalist/Desktop Support
JOB SUMMARY
Alexander Technology Group is seeking an IT Generalist for a client in Boston. The IT Generalist will be work hand in hand with an IT Manager to support a local user base and systems/network technology. This is a permanent position and requires onsite work in Boston.
Job Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience with comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, networking, PC hardware.
- Programming and database knowledge is a big plus (VBA, PHP, Python, Crystal reports, Visual Studio).
- Multi-tasking, attention to detail, and the ability to think on their feet are essential
- A bachelor's degree in a computer related field is preferred
Job Description:
This is a full time position with full benefits. You will be involved in all aspects of IT operations, including maintenance, upgrades, updates, and systems management. Your job responsibilities include the following:
- Troubleshooting user software and hardware issues
- Monitoring the performance of computer systems and applying periodic updates
- Developing database reports (SQL backend)
- Developing applications for MS-Office and Intranet
- Researching, testing and recommending new software solutions and/or cloud services
- Developing procedures and training materials
- Setup/installation of computer equipment and related software
