Productivity apps

Paul SilvioAh, the dreaded word: productivity. It haunts you all day, even when you’re being as productive as you can be blasting off emails. We’re always feeling pressured as if we should be doing MORE. Even with everything we’ve been through since the beginning of 2020, we’re still being told we must be as productive as possible. Remember, you’re not an octopus and you don’t have 8 limbs to do a thousand things at once.

Days spent watching Netflix and eating snacks are just as important as the days we answer every email and cross off our to-do list. One of the benefits of living in the age of technology is that we are given handy dandy productivity software applications to make our lives easier. We’ve put together a list of our favorite productivity apps for 2022 that you should be using.

What is a Productivity App?

If you have no idea what a productivity app is, don’t worry, we’ve got you. Productivity apps are software applications designed to make your life easier. They focus on organization, product management, and automation for simple tasks like email. Basically, they work like a virtual assistant without having to hire anyone. They come in all shapes and sizes to fit any business needs.

Best Productivity Apps

Slack

Slack is one of the most popular productivity apps on the market. It’s great for one-stop-shop team collaboration. With Slack, you can easily communicate with members of your team and create separate groups to keep you organized. You can download it to all of your devices so you’re always in the loop.

Evernote

Taking notes is the last thing anyone wants to do. Evernote is note-taking software that can help you stay organized and on top of things during hectic meetings. Instead of having scribbles on scratch paper, you will have everything in one digital file that can be shared with your team.

Forest

Working from home, or wherever, can be difficult. We always have our phones by our sides to distract us. Forest is an app trying to change that by motivating you to stop doom scrolling on Instagram and get to work! Whenever you need to get some work done, or take time to unplug, you’ll plant a virtual tree. The tree will grow while you’re off your phone, but keep in mind that when you leave the app before the time limit the tree will die. This is a great little app to keep you on task!

LucidChart

Have you been asked to make a diagram, or want to look professional in a pitch meeting? LucidChart can help. Many programs that allow you to create organizational charts can be confusing if you don’t know what you’re doing. If you want to design clean, professional charts that don’t look like an elementary school project, try LucidChart. You can create diagrams with drag and drop features, and easily share them through the software so others can edit.

Airtable

Airtable is an excellent tool for pretty much any productivity task you can think of. You can use it to keep track of your vinyl collection, assign tasks to your copywriting team, and even automate emails with workflows. Airtable comes with easy-to-use templates that will get you set up in minutes. Think of Airtable as your online virtual assistant.

Calm

You can only be productive if you take care of yourself first. Try incorporating an app like Calm into your daily routine for improving focus and relaxation. There are plenty of meditation options to choose from to clear your mind. Remember, rest is just as important as productivity!

The Bottom Line

To sum it up, it’s hard to be productive these days, we know that. Integrating productivity apps into your daily life will make things easier for you, and allow you to have more time to rest. Try some of these apps today!
